Mary Ann McArdle

Landscape painting as a child with her mother, Mary Ann went on to study at the Art Institute of Chicago and has created works in watercolor and pastel throughout her adult life. Her process involves the ongoing search for the inner essence and beauty of the image. Her subjects are inspired by nature on both land and sea.

Mary Ann has participated in art shows in both Chicago and Boston and exhibits at various
locations in the Merrimack Valley. Her work is also featured in many private collections.

When not painting herself, Mary Ann inspires others to create art; assisting adults with
disabilities in the art process, teaching both adults and children at Essex Art Center and other local venues. Her career is a blend of art-making, art therapy and art education.
