Join us to celebrate 30 years friendship of artists Alan Bull and Gordon Przybyla’s presenting their recent work.

Alan Bull, an artist originally from Old Town, Maine, now based in Newburyport; has been painting interpretations of Massachusetts landscapes, coastal scenes and agricultural imagery for nearly 30 years.

Alan’s work reflects some of his personal places, those images seen on trips visiting his family in Long Island and Maine and during his routines in Massachusetts.

“Repeated viewing over the course of my life has led to a gradual and transformative appreciation of the form, beauty and other inherent qualities of my surroundings: portraits of some of the magnificent trees in my neighborhood; abstract details from the ferry boats on my regular trips across Long Island Sound; an old mini golf course that remains unchanged since childhood; and other compositions that have emerged only after long associations with each subject."

Gordon Przybyla is a visual artist whose interests span drawing, painting, photography and videography. His work focuses on the human form; as it has progressed there has been a shift towards the material itself, with the figure playing the role of an excuse to push paint or pixels around.

Gordon has run a life drawing workshop at the Newburyport Art Association for over 20 years. He is a co-founder of the Free Art Program, and has collaborated with Exit Dance Theater and Vardan Ovsepian in Newburyport, MA
